Friday is fast approaching and I will be off to Florida. I am somewhat nervous about my bike. Its in the box ready to go and I just have anxiety the airline will break it. I hope they take care of it for me. I don't want to fly across the country only to find out that my frame is broken. I feel Like maybe I should have splurged on a bike box just for the security of peace of mind. Either way I am getting super excited for the ride.
I other news I moved out of my parents house a few weeks ago and have a wonderful little place in Santa Cruz to call home. It's a great location with a great room mate.
I have trying to ride a lot lately, even though its been freezing out every day. Made progress in strength and endurance and am feeling good about getting to ride in a warmer climate.

Florida challenge 2009
I am going to be riding with road to recovery again, this time in Florida. Tampa to Jacksonville.
The rules to win the $200 Dollar Apple card are the same as last time. Same for the the $20 dollar one, too. Find out more from my previous post.
You can sponsor me at www.r2rriders.com/sponsor by entering my name in the rider category, Anthony Purtscher. Your contributions are tax deductible, and any donation is greatly appreciated
The Ride form San Fransisco was amazing! Thank you to all who supported it! There were about 170 riders and we really challenged ourselves every day. I was able to meet many amazing people and am looking forward to seeing several of them in Florida.
The Road to recovery program is so amazing. Seeing and hearing the stories of what other vets were dealing with and how riding has benefited their lives in so many ways was really uplifting and inspiring.
since I have been back from the Golden state challenge I have been trying to ride every day, I even raced in a cyclocross race which was a blast even though I came in pretty much last....Inspiration to train harder.

Ride to Recovery Golden State challenge 2009
Ride to recovery is a non profit organization promoting the sport of cycling to aid disabled veterans on their road to recovery, both physically and mentally
Road 2 Recovery is gearing up for the Golden state ride from the VA hospital in San Fransisco, to the VA in Los Angeles and we need your help. Road 2 Recovery is a cycling program to rehabilitate combat wounded vets (www.road2recovery.us.com). The program is already doing great things to help injured veterans get started in cycling, but we’re really just getting started. Despite some great sponsorship from the cycling industry (Star Trac, Giant, Rudy Project, Sidi, etc.), the program must generate much more financial support to meet its goals.
You can sponsor me at www.r2rriders.com/sponsor by entering my name in the rider category, Anthony Purtscher. Your contributions are tax deductible, and any donation is greatly appreciated.
Additionally for every $5 Dollars you donate I will add your name to a drawing I will be holding to win a $200 Apple gift card. The more you donate the better your odds! I must personally raise over $1500 for the drawing to take place. All proceeds go to ride to recovery. When you donate using my name I will receive an e-mail with your e-mail address so I know to enter you. If you have any questions please visit the
Ride to recovery website, or contact me at tonymister@yahoo.com
And you can also get entered to win a $20 Dollar gift card, no donation needed, just by re tweeting a message similar to
